The more our phone buzzes at us, the more it conditions us to release cortisol, “the stress hormone.” Adjust your settings so that you get notifications only from people important to you.

It’s simple: with devices out of sight, you’ll be more focused, engaged and productive, and your team will be more creative without multitasking.

The “phone stacking” game, for instance. When meeting friends for dinner, have everyone put their phones in the middle of the table. Whoever looks at their device first picks up the check!
